Cover Reveal! - LEGACY OF BRICK & BONE by Krystle Matar

Out of This World SFF is thrilled to be hosting the official Cover Reveal for LEGACY OF BRICK & BONE by highly acclaimed fantasy author Krystle Matar! Book two in Matar's phenomenal Tainted Dominion series is set to be released on April 25th and I have to say that I have been waiting for this one with a ton of excitement. The first book in the series Legacy of the Brightwash was my Top Read of 2021 (full review here) and it finished a very close second in Mark Lawrence's Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off 7 competition. Anyone who hasn't read it yet should really fast track it to the top of their TBR immediately because it truly is a Gaslamp fantasy masterpiece in my opinion.

First up I'd like to kick things off with a brief description of the upcoming release LEGACY OF BRICK & BONE, followed by the big reveal of that gorgeous cover, and also a cool bonus treat of some additional artwork inspired by one of the well-known characters from the series!

Back Cover Blurb

Follow the law and you'll stay safe. But what if the law betrays you?

It all started with the girl from the river: mutilated, tattooed, murdered. Tashue couldn't help but look for answers and in the process, he uncovered the ugly truths being hidden by the very law he used to believe in - the law of the Authority.

Now he's fighting for his life, Mere survival isn't enough; he desperately wants to save his son from the Authority, and he wants revolution. At any cost.

Davik Kaine has been gathering power under everyone's noses. Ruthless, ambitious, with a rebel army backing him, he wants revolution, too. He's probably the only person powerful enough to protect Tashue from the looming implosion of the political field. And he's the only person with the connections to save Jason.

He may also be responsible for the death of the girl from the river.

Is making peace with Davik worth it, if it saves Tashue's son from the Authority?

If Tashue plays along with what Davik wants, can Tashue get retribution for the girl from the river?

Sounds pretty amazing, doesn't it? Okay, okay, I promised you a cover reveal and that's exactly what I intend to deliver. So without further delay, in all of its stunning, dazzling, and awe-inspiring glory...

It is my utmost pleasure to reveal the brand new cover for the second book in Krystle Matar's brilliant Tainted Dominion series..........

LEGACY OF BRICK & BONE!!!!!

WHAT A SPECTACULAR COVER - AM I RIGHT!!!???

Oh but that's not all! Author Krystle Matar has been kind enough to also provide me with some artwork for one of the popular characters in this series, Lorne.

And here it is!

Handsome devil, wouldn't ya say? I just love this portrait and I think it captures Lorne's essence quite wonderfully. It was drawn by the incredibly talented artist Helena Nikulina.

About the Author
Krystle Matar has been writing for a long time, but things got serious when Tashue Blackwood walked into their life, an amber-eyed whirlwind. Their debut, Legacy of the Brightwash, is a SPFBO Finalist, an r/Fantasy nominee for Best Debut and Best Indie.

When they aren't arguing with Tashue or any of his friends, they parent full time. They have a lot of children, too many hobbies, and one very excellent husband.

They are currently working on lots of stories set in the Dominion, are 1/4 of the Swords & Corsets Podcast, and are probably obsessively rewatching BBC's Ripper Street and/or anything that Dennis Lehane worked on like Apple TV's Blackbird.

You can connect with Krystle Matar online via Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.

And that concludes my half of the official Cover Reveal for Legacy of Brick & Bone! I really hope that you enjoyed it. Be sure to check out Part 2 of the reveal over on Beth Tabler's wonderful Before We Go Blog. I would like to extend a huge and heartfelt thank you to author Krystle Matar for giving me the opportunity to share this fantastic cover with you all. As I said before Legacy of the Brightwash is one of my all-time favorite books, so to be able to bring you this new cover and to now have a release date for the next book is truly momentous. Make sure to get those preorders in once you are able to do so because I have a feeling that this book will continue to solidify the brilliance of this series. Can't wait to read it.

Thanks again Krystle and Happy Reading everyone!
-Nick
